Energy Efficiency and Bright Border: Round-Table discussions

The foundation leads to round-table discussions on the topic "Energy Saving and Efficiency: The Role of the "Bright Border" project"

On March 21, in the framework of the "Bright Border" project (Լուսավոր Սահման - Bright Border), the "Armenian Energy Agency" foundation (Armenian Energy Agency) held a round-table talk with representatives from 7 RA regions and Artsakh, including from Shirak (Gyumri and Krashen residents), Lori (Vanadzor and Alaverdi), Syunik (Kapan), Aragatsotn (Talin and Ashtarak), Gegharkunik (Gavar, Lchashen and Vardenik) and else.

All 30 participants were social activists: social entrepreneurs, NGO directors, educators/trainers of different spheres, specialists in public relations, farmers, etc. They all contribute significantly to the development of their respective communities. The discussion succeeded thanks to the variation in age, geolocation, experience, and interests of participants; it was full of constructive comments and offers of cooperation. The project manager and co-founder of the "Youth is Power" NGO, Narine Teknejyan, presented the purpose, objectives, achievements, and prospects of the "Bright Border". 

Moreover, they discussed the importance of energy efficiency and the advantages of LED lighting as an energy-saving tool. There were some suggestions to extend the project to economically vulnerable other communities as well. The project manager proposed to implement an impact assessment and organize an offer to the Agency.

From December 1, 2018, until May 31, 2019, the "Bright Border" project will be executed with the sub-grant implemented in the frames of Bridge4CSOs project led by AGBU in partnership with EPF and funded by the European Union.
