AEA and OPIC will collaborate on investment projects

Questions related to potential cooperation between the Armenian Energy Agency and OPIC on investment projects in the energy sector were discussed during the meeting.

On September 28th,  Mr. Hayk Harutyunyan, CEO and Founder of  the Armenian Energy Agency had a very productive meeting with David Bohigian, Executive Vice President of the US Government’s Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) and his team in Washington DC.

The potential for cooperation between OPIC and AEA as well as possible OPIC participation in investment projects within Armenia’s  energy sector were discussed.

Mr. Hayk Harutyunyan has presented the investment environment and opportunities in the energy sector of Armenia. “Investment in renewables is a priority for OPIC and investing in Armenia also falls under its priorities. We agreed that the Agency side would put together a pipeline of projects and work with OPIC in setting up an investment fund to consolidate various investments in the renewable energy sector in Armenia”,- Mr. Harutyunyan stated.
