Hayk Harutyunyan: Renewable energy - it's not the future, it is the present

Hayk Harutyunyan called on the participants of the EU Eastern Partnership Business Forum 2018 to invest in Armenia

On December 6, 2018, Mr. Hayk Harutyunyan, Chairman of the Board of the "Armenian Energy Agency" foundation participated in the Eastern Partnership Business Forum 2018 in Vienna, Austria.

Mr. Hayk Harutyunyan presented guidelines for the development of Armenia's energy system and his vision of the future for renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions.

Important aspects of Armenia’s private sector and regulatory environment were discussed. Mr. Harutyunyan highlighted that Armenia has the most progressive regulatory legislation on "net metering", which permits physical (up to 150 kW) and legal entities (up to 500 kW) to meet autonomous power generation needs.

Chairman of the Board of AEA foundation has shared his opinion about smart tariff policies, smart grids as well as growth in demand for renewable energy. Mr. Harutyunyan has shared AEA Foundation's vision about the future of sustainable development and Armenia's energy independence.

Hayk Harutyunyan presented local investment opportunities in the energy sector with an invitation for business community representatives and investors to visit Armenia and invest in the energy sector.
